JNG China's "Carbon capture and utilization with Fertilizer Production (CCU) Complete Equipment" Listed in China's National Catalogue of Major Encouraged Environmental Protection Technologies

A Systemic "Chinese Solution" Emerges to Tackle Industrial Emissions and Agricultural Transformation Simultaneously

NANJING, China – Jiangsu Jiangnan Ecological Carbon Technology (Group) Co., Ltd. (JNG China) announced recently that its independently developed "Carbon capture and utilization with Fertilizer Production (CCU) Complete Equipment" had been listed in China's National Catalogue of Major Encouraged Environmental Protection Technologies and Equipment (2025 Edition). The catalogue was jointly published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) of the People's Republic of China. This formal recognition signals strong government support for scaling up this circular economy model that simultaneously addresses industrial pollution and soil health.

The ammonia-based desulfurization and decarbonization with carbon-sulfur-based enhanced-efficiency fertilizer technology moves beyond treating pollution as a cost center, instead capturing sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and carbon dioxide (CO₂)—with removal efficiencies exceeding 90% and 80% respectively—from flue gas and converting them into raw materials for a proprietary Carbon-Sulfur Enhanced-Efficiency Fertilizer. This creates a closed-loop "capture-convert-enhance" cycle, turning emission points into resource hubs.

Operating at atmospheric pressure and surpassing China's ultra-low emission standards, the system also solves the persistent industry challenge of ammonia slip control in ammonia-based decarbonization. The resulting fertilizer directly combats widespread soil carbon deficiency and nutrient imbalance. Globally verified field trials show it improves nitrogen use efficiency, reduces dependency on phosphate and potash, and maintains or increases crop yields.

"The system's power lies in solving two problems with one integrated process," said a company spokesperson. "For hard-to-abate industries, it's a practical decarbonization path that creates value. For agriculture, it's a tool for building soil resilience and reducing input costs." Proven results from China and European field applications confirm reduced synthetic fertilizer use without yield loss.

"This began with a simple idea: to transform an industrial liability into an agricultural asset," stated Mr. Xu Junsheng, Founder and Chairman of JNG China. "Converting emissions into nutrients is a viable, scalable path to address interconnected global challenges."

With multiple successful industrial demonstrations already operational in China, this national listing marks a pivotal step toward broader deployment. The "Waste-to-Fertilizer" model offers a tangible, economically viable solution for the green transition of power, chemical, and steel sectors.
